Three answers a trip has to give
A group trip has three different bills, and almost every app can only do one. Navefi separates what the trip cost you, what it cost the whole group, and the money that went through your accounts — which is the number that reconciles with your card statement.

Trip total
Passed through your accounts
What it cost you, and what it cost everyone
Your share of what the group split, plus what you paid alone and never put through it. Beside that, the whole bill for the trip. They are different numbers and Navefi shows both.
The trip links to the group
The shares the group assigned to you enter the trip on their own, and whoever accepts the trip invite also joins the group. There is no second list to maintain, and no bill-splitting app alongside.
Budget, by category and by day
Set what you plan to spend in the trip currency, and see where it went: accommodation, food, transport, and how much went each day. Expenses enter a trip because you mark them — Navefi does not guess from the date.
Balances
- InêsYou€34.10
- MiguelYou€30.35
- InêsRita€87.45
What people pay you back reduces the cost
When a friend pays you their share of the hotel, that is not income — but it does reduce what the trip cost you. Navefi handles both at once.
Invite by link, without knowing the email
Whoever opens the link joins the trip from their own workspace. On a trip nobody outranks anybody: everyone can invite, edit and delete.
- Carregamento do cartão refeiçãoMeal Allowance · 26 AugustScheduledRecurring€224.40
- OrdenadoSalary · 15 August€1,980.00
- MB Way — RitaReimbursement · 15 AugustReimbursement · not counted as income€32.50
A holiday counts in the month, as it should — that money did leave. If you would rather read August without it, there is an option to take the trip out of your personal statistics, and the month becomes comparable with July again. It ships off, because the normal case is that a trip counts.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between what the trip cost me and what I spent?
If you paid for the whole hotel for five people, €500 left your account but the trip cost you €100. The first number reconciles the statement, the second tells you what you really spent. Navefi shows both side by side, plus the group’s whole bill.
Do I need a group to use a trip?
No. A trip on its own records its own budget and its own expenses. The group is only needed when you split bills with other people — and then it links to the trip, your shares arrive automatically, and the settle-up appears inside the trip itself.
Can I save for the trip before going?
Yes. A trip can be linked to a savings goal, so you can follow how much you have put aside for it beside what you have already spent on it.
What about work trips?
Record the trip and mark the reimbursable expenses. When the reimbursement arrives in your account, link it to the trip and the real cost to you reflects it.
