A photographed receipt becomes an entry
Keeping receipts in your pocket achieves nothing. Photograph one and Navefi reads the merchant, the date, the total and the line items, and proposes the expense already filled in. Recognition runs on your device; the image only leaves it if you ask for the advanced reading.

Text recognition runs inside your browser, with the Portuguese and English models, and returns a confidence score so you know how much to trust what it read. The models are downloaded on first use.
Advanced reading, optional
When the local recognition is not enough, one button sends the image to a vision model, which returns the same fields and also proposes the category. It depends on that service being configured; if it is not, the button does not appear.
Confirmation before saving
Navefi proposes, you correct and confirm. Nothing enters your accounts without passing through you.
Merchant, date, total and line items
Beyond the header, the line items with quantity, unit and price, so a supermarket run can be split across categories.
The image stays attached to the record
The file is attached to the expense, up to 10 MB. Useful for warranties and for justifying an expense months later.

Navefi does not yet read the QR code or the ATCUD on Portuguese invoices, and does not extract the NIF or the VAT amount. Those lines are skipped on purpose, so they do not pollute the item list. What gets recorded is the merchant, the date, the total and the items.
Frequently asked questions
Does the photo leave my device?
Only if you ask for the advanced reading. The normal recognition runs inside your browser and the image is sent nowhere.
Does it work with Portuguese receipts?
The text is read with the Portuguese model, and Portuguese merchant rules help propose the category. The QR code and the ATCUD are not read.
Is the expense created automatically?
No. It is a filled-in proposal, saved only when you confirm it.
